Plenty of Progress

The weather's finally cooled down here, so my motivation to paint's come rushing back. To celebrate, I finished off a load of models for my Thousand Sons over the weekend!

That's a pretty solid chunk of progress. It feels nice to be finally getting on with things, as I was getting pretty antsy with the weather making me unable to hobby. It's become such a habit now to get on with something every day, it feels weird when I can't do anything.

Anyway, here's what I've gotten done. I'll run through them one by one:

Mal Mephrit, Siege Breaker of the Order of Ruin

This is the major one for me. I've been plugging away at this guy for a little while now, playing with colour schemes and details to the point where it was driving me a little nuts.

I'm pretty happy with how he's turned out though. I think if I was to go back and do a little more, I'd probably add some scripture to his parchment, but I'm considering him done for now. I'm pretty eager to get on with other projects, so I'm not wanting to spend too much more time on him.

Adras Matyas, XVth Legion Apothecary

Another model I've had laying around for a while, but in this case I just couldn't be bothered to paint him until now. Once I put paint to model though, he actually came together quite quickly.

The tricky part was working out the composition of colours to make him stand out as an Apothecary, as my Thousand Sons scheme uses a lot of ivory and white anyway, so he could easily get lost in the mix. I think I've struck a good balance though. The addition of the symbol for the Order of the Jackel on his right shoulder pad helps too.

Quad Mortar crew

To be honest, I painted these mostly because I had to. I think everybody gets this from time to time: you come across those sections of your armies that aren't much fun to paint, but you have to get them done so you can game with the fun parts!

I don't think you can blame me really. Gun crews aren't the most inspiring things in the world. Sure you can really go to town with them in fantasy or historicals, but I just find the Power Armoured variety really quite boring.

At least my Quad Mortars are now WYSIWYG though. I also took the opportunity to add decals to the gun carriages. Nothing fancy, but it ties them into the rest of my force.

With everything I've been working on recently, I really should get a group shot of my XVth Legion to show you guys. It's getting to be quite a mighty collection!

So what's next, I hear you ask? Well I'm thinking of taking a little break from my Thousand Sons for a while as I wait for some bits and pieces to arrive for the next stage of the army. I'm thinking of working a few Sons of Horus units in the meantime. I'm also waiting on the release of Adeptus Titanicus, which could derail things entirely. I'll have to see what happens and where my hobby muse takes me.

Scattershot Progress

My run of random 30k productivity seems to be continuing.

This time I've made a start on a crewman for a Quad Mortar and made an Apothecary to go into my Breachers. Both are needed for my planned 3000 point force, but neither are what I'd planned to do when I sat down to hobby after work today. I'm starting to think that I really shouldn't question where my hobby-addled mind takes me. Random progress is still progress after all!

Both are pretty much done, apart from a few details, plus obviously finding a right hand for the crewman. Hopefully I can get both finished by the end of the week, then I just need to cobble together a second crewman for somewhere.

I've just got to hope that my hobby mojo doesn't fizzle out!

Got my mojo back

It seems that motivation has hit me hard this week. After weeks of not doing much at all, I appear to have my new Consul nearly painted in no time at all!

I just have a few details left to finish on him, like the Crystals/ Phosphex Bombs on his chest and a little more highlighting, then he'll be done.
Background-wise I've decided that he's called Mal Mephret, a powerful Telepath whose skills have proven useful in guiding subterranean assaults towards their target, allowing for some ruthlessly efficient attacks using Termite Assault Drills.
In-game it'll be nice to be able to deploy a psyker up close and personal on turn one in order to dish out a Psychic Scream whilst his Breachers get on with the task of reducing the nearest vehicle to molten slag using their Meltaguns!

I'm pretty happy with the way he's turned out and he'll bring my total of painted Thousand Sons up to roughly 1800 points. That combined with the Quad Mortars which I've recently repainted takes me to well over halfway through my current 3000 point list, so things are shaping up quite nicely.

Hopefully I'll be able to paint up some crew for my Mortars next, as I need to do them for my two week hobby challenge, then I can move on to more important and interesting projects.

Randomly, I've also started working on this guy:

I bought the Sigvald model last year for a Lucius conversion, but never actually used him in the end. I found it abandoned in my bits box so I decided to base him up.

I'm not actually sure what I'll use him for yet, but I'm sure I'll find something. He's most likely to end up being used as the Masque for my Daemonettes. I've also been tempted to try Age of Sigmar recently though, so he might end up just being a Slaaneshi Lord. I'll have to see. I've got to try not to get too distracted though.

Hopefully this productive streak continues and I'll post more soon!

Catching up

It's been a busy couple of weeks for me. I've had time off and actually gotten a fair amount of hobby time and gaming in, but Pokemon Regionals have meant I haven't really had much time for blogging. It's quite annoying, as I feel like I'm now playing catchup, but that can't really be helped.

Hopefully over the next couple of posts I'll be able to get you guys updated on what I've been up to. It'll also help get things sorted in my head where I am with my projects and what I should be doing next.

First of all, I got models done!

I haven't actually completed much recently, considering how many different projects I've been working on, so it's nice just to have some finished models sitting in front of me. The bulk of this has been completing my latest Two Week Hobby Challenge - getting a five man Volkite Culverin Squad finished for my Thousand Sons:

I'm really quite happy with how they turned out, especially as I was thinking they were looking terrible right up until the last stage of highlighting. It just goes to show how a little perseverence can pay dividends. The transfers were pretty easy to do, although they were delayed slightly by need to wait for a new decal sheet to arrive from Forge World.

I also finished my Whirlwind Scorpius, barring the need to apply transfers at some point in the future:

This basically means I just need to finish painting my Terminators, then convert up my Termite and I'll have my 2000 point force ready for when my local campaign resumes. This has taken a bit longer than I expected, but considering I haven't even  had a chance to order the bits I need, I think I can be forgiven for not getting those done quite yet!

Apart from these, I've been mostly focusing on my Necromunda stuff. I'll cover that collectively in my next post though, as there's rather a lot to show you.

For now though I'll leave you with some pics from a 40k game I played last week. I broke out my Emperor's Children for the first time in ages and had a game against my local Harlequins player.

It was a really close and fun game, full of the chaos and mayhem you'd expect when these two ancient enemies meet. I lost narrowly in the end, but when the game is this fun, who's really keeping score?

Special mention goes out to the single Heavy Bolter Marine who just simply refused to die. Over the course of three turns, he withstood the attentions of two Venoms and Shadowseer before finally having to be dispatched personally by my opponent's Warlord. A true hero of the 3rd!

I'll definitely have to make sure he gets some special attention and decals when I go to finish up his squad!

Speeder done

Just a quick one today. I managed to get the Land Speeder done yesterday, including applying transfers:

Considering how little enthusiasm I had for working on it, I actually think it hasn't turned out too bad. It's far from my best work by a long shot, but it's certainly not looking terrible.

That said, I've still decided to leave the painting on the other Speeder until a later date.

Next up I think I'm going to be working on Horus a little more, base my Veteran Squad and maybe paint a couple of Justerian. A few days off from painting red and gold Space Marines will probably do me some good tbh, especially considering the idea I've had for my next 40k project. More on that later though.

For now that's 10 points for me and I've entered positive figures. Definitely a good start to the weekend!

Annoying Land Speeder

I don't know what it is about this model, but it's really starting to bug me. I just want it finished and off my painting desk ASAP.

I think my annoyance with it might be down to a couple of factors. Firstly it's the fact that I don't really want to be painting it. I'm doing it because I need it for gaming. My campaign list has a pair of Land Speeders in it because I can't afford to drop £100 for the pair of Javelins which I really want until later in the year. I'm including them as a nessesity, rather than because I love the models. That really can't help things.

I think the second reason is that it's taken far too long just to get this one model finished. I'm slow at painting vehicles anyway and I really haven't liked how previous painting attempts have turned out, so it's already been stripped twice. Thta basically means it's been cluttering up my desk for ages, easily since before Christmas.

So I just want it gone. I've made it my pledge for this stage of the Two Week Challenge simply as way to force me to sit down and finish it.

That basically means that I'll be rid of it by Saturday at the very latest. I thought I'd be done with it today, but I was too knackered when I got back from work to even think about sitting down to apply transfers. Hopefully I can finish it tomorrow so I can move on to something that excites me.

I'm not going to even think about the fact that I need a pair of these things...

Anyone else have a project like this?

Only three years in the making... Breachers complete!

It's amazing what you can achieve when under pressure. With the imminent arrive of a pair of Primarchs and the looming spectre of the 'Box of Shame', I managed to sit down and actually finish up my Breacher Squad:

Once I actually forced myself to work on them, it wasn't actually too bad. It was more a case of just getting myself to my painting desk and minimising distractions.

One thing I have learned is the importance of planning out transfers before doing them. I decided to add the serpent symbol of the Order of Ruin after I'd already done the decals for half the unit. I had the idea that it would appear on every one of their shields, with it going on their shoulder pads as a backup. I ran into a problem with one of these guys when I realised I'd already applied transfers to him in such a way that the serpant wouldn't look right on both the shield and the pad, so it ended up going on his lower leg instead. It wasn't a huge issue though and I've my lesson for next time.

I'm so glad these are finally finished and looking great. I've been working on the idea for them for so long that it actually seems strange to think that I've got nothing left to do. Considering I've been working on them for three years though, I'm glad they turned out well.

So that's the Box of Shame avoided, 10 painting points in the right direction and a cool looking unit to use in my game on Monday night. Not bad really.

Now to turn my attention to my Veterans and Land Speeders, plus a Heavy Support Squad. These aren't nearly as urgent, as I've only pledged a single Land Speeder to the next stage of the challenge, but I need to at least get them built and base-coloured so I can use them on Monday night.

Wish me luck!

Motivation back!

Remember that lack of motivation I was talking about yesterday? Well it seem that the universe has a weird way of solving these issues.

I got an email today saying my package of Forge World goodies has been dispatched. That basically means that unless I make progress quickly, my painting points total is going to be shot to pieces.

With that in mind I sat down and forced myself to apply the final few layers and basing on my Breachers, so they're pretty much done now. I just need to sit down with the Micro Sol/Set on my day off tomorrow and finish applying the decals.

You'll have to forgive the slightly subpar photo quality. I only had my phone camera to hand and I was about to go to work, so didn't have time to get a proper shot. Tbh I think they're looking pretty good as they are, but my principles won't let me claim the painting points for them until they're completely done, otherwise I'll get lazy and never get round to doing the transfers.

After that I need to do my Veterans and I'll be able to bump my points up by 20, which should at least cover the 'cost' of Magnus. Not sure how I'll offset the rest, but at least it's heading in the right direction!

Back on track

After my little distraction, I'm returning my attention to my more pressing project, which is of course my Breachers. I promised myself that I would get my 1000pt force painted before the end of the current campaign leg, but that isn't looking like a realistic prospect now. I've got nothing in the force that's above about 75% completion and I can't even take part in the game now due to real life getting in the way.

Instead I'm going to set myself a wider goal. The next stage of the escalation campaign is 1500 points. That's not actually a massive amount more to do considering the premium that Thousand Sons pay for their units in 30k, so it seems reasonable to aim to get that completed in time for the end of second campaign stage, which will be in a month or so.

I've also decided to give myself a little kick up the arse in the productivity department. The Age of Darkness podcast (which is fantastic btw and you should check it out) runs a regular segment called the 'Two Week Hobby Challenge', where listeners set themselves challenges and aim to complete them in two week segments. It seems a great way to keep motivation up and also adds an element of accountability if I fail to complete it, so I signed myself up.

My pledge for the next two weeks is to finish painting and basing my Breachers, with a stretch goal to get the transfers done as well. This seems a pretty easy start for me, as my Breachers currently look like this:

They're coming along nicely, even if I do say so myself. I reckon a couple of nights work on them should see them finished. Considering how long I've spent on them, I'll be over the moon to finally see them done and sitting in my display cabinet.

In case you're wondering, this is the state the rest of the force is in atm:

I finally feel I've reached the turning point between thinking 'this looks terrible and will take ages' and 'actually these are nearly done and don't look too bad'. It's a fine line, but it's always nice when a project reaches that stage.

I think the focus of the next period of the Two Week Challenge will be focussing on the Veterans, but I'll see how I feel when I get there. Either way, expect lots of hobby progress posts in the next few weeks as I get these done.

Hobby Epithany

As well as finishing up Damokai (see last post) I've also been working on my Breacher Squad for him to hunker down in.

I think this squad may actually win a prize for time spent between start and completion. I started them not long after Age of Sigmar came out. I looked at the Stormcast shields and thought 'those would look really cool on some Thousand Sons Breachers', so I ordered some from a bits website and started painting them up, intending to buy the models to go with them not long after.

Then unemployment after uni began to sting, followed by various craziness happening in my life which resulted in them being shelved. I returned to the idea last year when the Burning of Prospero box made the nesessary conversions really easy. I got the unit pretty much finished, then I hit my biggest snag: the transfers.

I've always hated doing transfers. They're fiddly and I'm ridiculously cack-handed at using them, so I normally don't bother with them. The problem is that I had a vision for my Breachers which involved arcane symbols and Legion icons all over them. My freehanding skills are about as good as my skill with transfers, so I lost my motivation to press on with the project and the squad were shelved again.

Until now!

Have you ever tried a hobby product and thought 'where have you been all my life'? That was my recent experience with Micro Sol and Micro Set.

I was talking to a friend at my local club about my twice-abandoned project and he recomended I give these a try. A quick trip to Amazon later and I decided to give them a go. I figured it couldn't do any harm to at least try them out.

My god the results were amazing. They make applying transfers a dream and produces a 'painted on' effect beyond anything I could have imagined. I really can't speak highly enough of these products. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone who has trouble with applying transfers. I managed to get those four models done in just under an hour. That includes the time spent watching various Youtube tutorials to learn how to use them properly!

So yeah as you've probably gathered, I'm a very happy gamer right now. I can finally crack on and finish the unit which started the idea for my Thousand Sons army in the first place. Expect to see a picture of the finished unit very soon. I want to get them done in time for the big campaign game which my local club has planned for next monday. Hopefully I can finid the time this weekend to get them finished.

Finished a model!

I've been really terrible in posting on here over the last month or so. There's no excuse for it really. I've just been feeling too lazy to write blog posts!

That doesn't mean I haven't been hobbying though. I pushed on after my last post and managed to finish up Damokai:

I really love how he's turned out. He's so full of character. One look at him and I get the impression of a stubborn bastard who won't take crap from anybody. A happy accident of my painting has also made it look like he's got a scarred and missing eye, so I've dubbed him with the nickname 'Little Magnus'.

True to one of the most universal rules of wargaming, he performed terribly in his first game after being painted. Even by my usual standards it was truly appaling luck. He managed to melt his own brains and that of his Sekhmet bodyguard with Perils of the Warp on three consecutive turns against my local Emperor's Children player, utterly failing to claim the relic he was meant to be hunting for!

Hopefully he's gotten that out of his system now and he'll do better next time. I still need to paint the rim of his base though. Fingers crossed that won't cause a relapse, especially as my next game is a big multiplayer battle to mark the end of the campaign leg.

Either way, he's near enough to being done to consider him my first finished model for 2018 and for me to claim a nice chunk of painting points for him. I've been working on some other stuff as well this month, but I'm shattered after a night shift right now so I'll probably do a couple of follow up posts over the next couple of days to show those off as well.

Until then, happy gaming!

First model of the year

It's a month into 2018 and I realised that I haven't actually painted any models yet, despite playing loads of games.

Luckily I have the perfect project lined up to change this state of affairs:

Despite having collecting Thousand Sons and had the background for Alto Damokai, Praetor of the 55th Company worked out for a few years now, I've never actually had a model to represent him until now.

The 30k campaign down my local club has given me the perfect excuse to get him done. As you can see, he's based on the Kurtha Sedd model from Betrayal at Calth, with a Sternguard head and a few fantasy bits thrown in.

He's a long way off done yet, but I feel it's a solid start. Most of the work now is layering up from the washes and applying highlights, which will take a while. I'm hoping to have him done in the next week or two though, then I'll probably be working on my Breachers.

It's either that or I'll get distracted by Necromunda gangs. Progress will be made on my 'to do' pile either way!

Progress at last!

I seem to have gone from very little painting progress to massive amounts in a very short space of time. I finally found some time to myself the other day to sit down and paint. Three hours later, I was somewhat stunned at the results.

Firstly, I managed to repaint an entire Sentinel squadron:

These are the first of the Elysians I bought from a mate the other week. They're a unit which are going to be pulling double duty in my Ordo Xenos and 30k Militia forces, so I kept to a very simple colour scheme which could work in either era. I think they turned out really nicely considering how quickly I got through them. They're certainly not going to be winning any painting awards any time soon, but they look good and it's a really quick and easy scheme to replicate on the rest of the force. I should be tackling some infantry to go with them as soon as they've been stripped down.

The other unit I got pretty much finished was these:

That's a pair of Quad Mortars for my 30k forces. These are also going to be pulling double duty between my various 30k forces (seeing as I don't fancy shelling out £30-ish a gun so I can have them in the correct colours for each army), so with that in mind I kept them to fairly a fairly neutral gunmetal silver. Fluff-wise this can be explained by saying they were salvaged from warzones as the Heresy went on, so there wasn't time for their new owners to repaint them.

What I will be doing at some point though is painting up crewmen for them in Thousand Sons, Sons of Horus, Night Lords and Militia colours, so at least the guys manning the guns will be correctly attired. I know I don't play Night Lords, but a friend of mine does and he likes to borrow them whenever we have a game, so I figured it'd be a nice touch to have the right crew for him too.

So that's 30 painting points for me for the Sentinels, plus another 10 once I've run a wash over the base of the Quad Mortars. I didn't realise until I took photos just how much of the white under the basing sand showed through. That's easily fixed though.

Lets hope this productive streak continues! You never know, I might even be able to finish that Whirlwind Scorpius this week too.

Oh and on top of everything else, I managed to get a game in vs my local Emperor's Children player. I'll leave you with the photo I took of the exact moment it all started going wrong for my poor Thousand Sons. I need more AA...

The joys of lighting - updated Thousand Sons

Given how many painting updates I post, you'd think I'd already own a daylight bulb for painting, right? You'd be wrong.

I've never quite gotten around to getting one. There's always been new models or paints to buy, so a proper painting bulb has never been very high on my shopping list. I feel a little foolish now. I finally picked one up today and I'm already amazed at the difference it makes.

Before:

After

I never realised before just how yellow/orange all my pictures I took under my normal lamp looked, until I saw the two pictures of the same models side by side. I really should have tbh, having worked in media and the visual arts for nearly half my life, but I've never really applied that training to my hobby photography before. I think part of it is because I indulge in my hobby when I want to switch my brain off to everything else, so the lighting and colour correction which I do without thinking when I'm editing video never really occurs to me.

Now I realise what an idiot I've been though, I'll obviously be applying this to all the hobby photography I'll be doing from now on. I'm also thinking about playing around with using photoshop to enhance my hobby pics, now I've got a gaming mat and I'm working on some terrain to go with. More on that soon though!

Thousand Sons Demi-Squad

Bouyed up by the generosity of the hobby community, I've decided to plunge into finally getting my Thousand Sons done. It's been nearly five years since I came up with the idea of the army after reading A Thousand Sons, so it's really about time I got it done!

Given the amount of time I've been working on them, it's a little embarassing that I don't even have single squad to show for it. Every time I work on them, I get frustrated that I can't get the shade of red on their armour exactly right and soon abandon them.

Now I finally feel I've got a formula that works, I might actually make some progress. I managed to knock these up over the course of last night:

Still a long way to go on them, but I'm feeling really postive this time. This is going to end up being a fifteen man Tactical Squad with attached Apothecary, so a nice and simple start to the force. After that are going to be some Breachers and Terminators, then a trio of Contemptors, so there'll be plenty to keep me going.

Thousand Sons Sergeant WIP

I've been ill over the last week, so between that and work, I haven't gotten as much done as I would have hoped. I'm fully recovered now and got a day off tomorrow, so I'm hoping to get a load of stuff done tomorrow though. What I have managed to get done though is to start on one of my pledges for the' Loyalty & Treachery' challenge on Bolter & Chainsword.

I've pledged quite a bit for this actually, challenging myself to paint about 10 units and tanks for 30k in just three months. Only time will tell if I've bitten off more than I can chew with it. I decided to start with the basics though and paint my Thousand  Sons Tactical Squad, beginning with Sergeant Arrash:

I'm still trying decide whether I want white/ivory or gold trim on my Thousand Sons. Pretty much every depiction of them so far has a different intepretation. Until FW gives us a definitive answer, I'm thinking of just doing a combination of the two. For now though, I'm just goign to to focus on getting the basic squads done and worry about the shoulder pads later. I still need to put in a Forge World order for those at some point anyway.

Thousand Sons Contemptor WIP

No completed models for you today, but I have been working on a Contemptor Dreadnought which I bought off eBay couldn't resist stripping down and painting as soon as it arrived in the post.

After two nights work, this is how it looks:

There's still a long way to go on him, especially on the top half, but I'm quite proud of how the legs have turned out. Not shown are the various papers and scrolls which I'll be attaching when I'm done to give more of a Thousand Sons vibe to him.

The provisional name given to him is Ancient Alkush, 'The namer of names'. Thought up by my girlfriend who got fed up of me asking her for Egyptian-sounding name suggestions!

I've started logs for this project on a couple of forums, so I should have plenty more to show off soon.

"I Aten't Dead"

It's been a while since my last post. This is mostly due to being unemployed and just having moved into a new place, so i've been too busy to get round to blogging. I've been slowly plugging away at some of my projects though. I even got some models finished for once! I'll be trying to post up my progress on stuff over the  next couple of weeks.

The main thing I'm working on atm are my Thousand Sons. I've finally found a red paint scheme which works for them and I actually like. This coupled with the release of Betrayal at Calth means I can get most of what I need in one go. I've got my copy of B@C ready to go, thanks to my lovely girlfriend who got it for me as an early Christmas present, but it's taking all my self restraint not rush through and assemble it all at once.

This is the test scheme i have so far for my XVth Legion:

I've got a plan to convert up some helmets for them from Chaos Warrior helmets, so he's remaining headless for now (Assuming I don't go the whole hog and buy FW heads for the whole army) and I'm going to see if I can prise the left shoulder pad off so I can replace it with the Mk IV Forge World ones previewed in their newsletter today, but other than that, I'm happy with how he's shaping up.

With the test model complete, I've started a little production line to paint up my first squad:

'Slow and steady' is my watch phrase for the whole project. Considering I've been planning this force for nearly five years now, I don't want to get too carried away and potentially ruin my expectations for the end result by rushing through it.

I'll post more soon.

30k Thousand Sons Demi-Squad WIP

I've managed to get quite a bit painted recently, but unfortunately I havn't had much time to get many photos of what I've been working on, due to uni commitments. I'll try and remedy this in the next few weeks if I can find some free time.

For now though, I'm happy to announce I've actually made some serious headway with my Pre-Heresy Thousand Sons after three long years of planning and experimenting with them! The main thing which has been holding back progress on them has been trying to find a good recipe for their red armour. Every attempt I've made on them in the past just hasn't looked right. Then a few weeks ago I picked up some Army Painter Dragon Red basecoat spray and it all just seemed to click into place. I followed the basecoat with a Carroburg Crimson shade and a bit of weathering and I think the end result looks excellent.

The marines were built using the SM Tactical squad kit (with a lot of conversion work) and some Warriors of Chaos helms. I'm still wondering whether or not to add helmet crests to them, as the Thousands Sons are shown in Collected Visions, or whether to save those for the veterans of my force. I'll leave them as they are for now though, at least until I have a full squad of them. The sergeant is a combination of the Thousand Sons and FW Iron Armour kits

They still need their bases finishing up and markings added, but I'm thinking about saving the latter for when the FW Prospero book arrives, so I can mark them correctly. For now though I'll just be happy to get a whole squad done to a battle-ready standard. At least five more members will be added when my next bitz order arrives, then I can turn my attention to some characters for them and the Alpha Legion I've been inspired to build by the release of Extermination.

Thousand Sons Librarian WIP

Now I'm not the biggest fan of Christmas, but I have to admit it has it's uses. It's normally the time of year when my hobby fund gets a healthy top-up, courtesy of friends and family who are perpetually stumped as to what to buy me, so end up handing me gift cards or money instead. This year netted me enough to put in a good-sized FW order, so I've decided to give my Thousand Sons some reinforcements.

The plan is to use this second Heresy-era army to field fun stuff which doesn't suit my airborne Sons of Horus, such as the Sicarian battle tank and Mechanicum allies. Before I can add those though, I need to fill the minimum requirements of Troops and HQ. With this in mind I've been working this guy to lead my force:

I'm not sure if he's going to be a Librarian or a Praetor yet, but to be honest the line between the two positions is so blurred in the case of the Thousand Sons, I don't think it really matters. He'll probably fill whichever role I need him to on a game by game basis.

Once I finish up some detail work, add cult markings and finish the sword, he'll be the first fully painted model for my Thousand Sons. It's about time really, seeing as I've been working on and planning them for three years now!
