Stormraven Conversion WIP

The battle report from last weeks campaign game is still on the way but unfortunately it's very time consuming and time is something i really don't have enough of at the moment.

Instead, here's some WIP pics of my Stormraven Gunship i've been meaning to put up for a few weeks now. It's made simply through a rearrangement of parts from one of my Valkyries (it broke after taking a tumble from a high shelf, hence the reason why it seems already painted) and the addition of a little plasticard.

I'm aiming to give it interchangable weapon mounts, so it can be switched between a counts as Valkyrie and Stormraven at will (also the reason why it's crewed by a Scout, who can pass as a Imperial Guardsman too)

What do people think so far?

  1. I like it. I have been struggling with how to get the ramp in the front for assault purposes, what a great idea just to turn the fuselage around!

Brilliant! Why the plasticard tail section? Would the Valk one not fit or did you just not like it?

  2. Thanks, but it's not just a simple turn around of the fuselage, i turned the nose cone into a tail cone and i'm rebuilding the cockpit. Although I'll admit that it's not terribly clear from those pictures

It's not a tail section, it's going to be bulked out to make an entire rear cargo section so it can hold a dreadnought and 12 marines. What you're seeing with the plasticard is the beginnings of armour plating.

  3. Interesting conversion mate, I'm loving some of the conversions that are coming out due to there been no official model.

Good luck with the rest of the conversion.
